Chocolate Christmas trees

Chocolate Christmas trees

Get the kids involved in cooking this Christmas then if you can stop them from eating all the chocolate trees, leave some out for Santa!

Refrigeration: 15 minutes plus extra time for decoration
Makes: 8 Christmas trees

What you need:

Optional decoration:

What you do:

  1. Have 8 silver foil bun cases ready for filling on a tray.
  2. Gently melt milk chocolate in a bowl over a small saucepan of simmering water. Remove from heat and stir in Kellogg's Cornflakes Original. Carefully mix until completely covered in chocolate
  3. Using one teaspoonful at a time, carefully fill bun cases by stacking the mixture to form a cone shape. Fill all the cases and place tray in the refrigerator to set (approximately 15 minutes)
  4. Take out of the refrigerator and carefully place flaked almonds around the tree. Attach edible silver balls and white chocolate chips with a little melted chocolate (use a cocktail stick dipped in melted chocolate to do this)
  5. Cover front side of star shape with a little melted white chocolate and attach a silver ball in the middle. Attach to the top of the tree with more melted chocolate
  6. If you wish, before attaching star, drizzle a little melted chocolate over the top of the tree using a teaspoon and then attach star. Alternatively (or as well as) dust the tree with a little edible glitter

Handy tip:

Best kept in the refrigerator.
