Miso marinated fish

Miso is high in protein and essential vitamins and minerals, so this dish is great if you're starting a new year health kick!

What you need:

  • 4 cod fillets
  • 8 tbsp white (or light brown) miso paste
  • 2 tbsp Blue Dragon Mirin
  • 2 tbsp Blue Dragon Sake
  • 2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tsp corn flour
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • vegetable oil for frying
  • 1 jar Blue Dragon Sesame Soy & Spring Onion Yaki Sauce
  • 4 shredded spring onions

What you do:

  1. Wash the fish steaks and coat evenly with the miso paste. Cover in Clingfilm and leave to marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours
  2. Gently remove the miso paste from the fish steaks, using a spatula
  3. Combine Blue Dragon Mirin, Blue Dragon Sake, pepper, corn flour and 1 tbsp vegetable oil and coat the fish steaks with the mixture
  4. *CAUTION-HOT OIL* Heat enough oil in a wok for shallow frying
  5. Fry the fish steaks on both sides until cooked through and nicely browned
  6. Use a slotted spoon to remove the fish, and place on absorbent kitchen paper to drain off any excess oil
  7. Heat the Blue Dragon Sesame, Soy & Spring Onion Yaki Sauce in a pan and pour over the fish steaks
  8. Serve immediately with rice, garnished with shredded spring onions
